I believe in Jesus

Ruby's favorite song for the past month or so is one she learned during one of her drop-ins to our church's Children's Choir practice: "Baby Jesus, we love you!" She sings it A LOT. And I love it. Sometimes she sings it with such passion that her face turns bright red and and she scowls. So cute. Anyway, another favorite song on any given day is Happy Birthday. It doesn't matter whose birthday it is (or isn't), she's singing it. Sometimes we'll say, "it's not mommy's birthday today", so then she'll repeat it but change the ending to make it Jesus' birthday. Now we're working on a new song for her. Ruby has been reminding us a lot lately to say "thank you, Jesus" before we eat. Such a helpful reminder! We have decided that our before meals prayer will be in the form of song, and Ruby is delighted whenever we sing it: "Oh, the Lord is good to me. And so I thank the Lord! For giving me the things I need: The sun and the rain and the appleseed. The Lord is good to me. Amen" We end up singing it a few times each meal. Such a sweet girl to help us remember to be thankful for what we have!
