Due date explanation

I spoke with my doctor today and inquired about my actual due date. She said that they go by the very first ultrasound I had which gave me the due date of 1/17/12. Sadly, she said there is no possibility of being induced before 41 weeks (1/24/12). Apparently it is the policy of Mercy Hospital, due to the fact that patient dissatisfaction is higher for people who are induced prior to 41 weeks because it typically leads to a longer hospital stay and longer labor. The bad part for me is that she thinks I will likely need to be induced regardless, since my body just likes to keep babies in! I have now made it my mission to disprove this theory and go into labor on my own on Tuesday. Therefore, I have scheduled myself for a massage on Monday and even got a doctor's note to give to the masseuse allowing them to not avoid "trigger points" that are said to induce labor! Lets hope it works! I plan to follow up this massage with a spicy hot meal. Wish us luck!
