Our new "normal"

I started this posting on Monday... how funny how it's impossible to finish anything in a timely manner with an infant in the house!
It's been a busy week with just Ruby and mommy home alone! Our days consist mostly of feedings, naps and diaper changes, but we try to get in lots of storytime whenever we can. Also, Ruby is doing really well with tummy time. Her neck seems to be very strong and she likes to show off that skill whever she can. She especially likes to rub her taggies blankie on her face during tummy time (thanks auntie Amanda!)
Here's a picture of the talented Ruby holding up her head during tummy time.
On Monday we took Ruby for her first photo session. She slept the entire way there, but as soon as we took her out of her car seat she was wide awake and hungry. Bummer, since we were hoping to capture some photos of her sleeping (Anne Geddes style). Instead, we spent a lot of time trying to get a cold, naked baby to appear happy. She got backk at her mom and dad in her own way when we were doing a family pose and we were both holding naked Ruby and she peed on us. You know you're a mother when... you try your darndest to catch pee in your hand. Ty left with a wet shoe. Ah, the joys of parenthood! Another monumental event occured at the photo shoot, too- Ruby's cord fell off!
We expect to have the photos later this week and I will be sure to post some.
Tuesday, Ruby and mommy went down to daddy's office for a little while and then went out for lunch. We also had an outing to Target still in search of a dress for her for Sunday's shower, but no luck. Everything is just too big for her. I think tomorrow we will make a stop at Baby Gap after we have lunch with Baby Alivia Strommer and her mommy, Amanda.
Last night, Ruby had her first babysitter while mommy and daddy went to a Counselor Appreciation dinner. We dropped Ruby off with Adam and Steph for a couple of hours, since they live right around the corner from where were, and she was a perfect angel for them and slept the entire time! Not even a poopy diaper to spice things up a little!
Today Ruby and I are going to have lunch with Baby Alivia Strommer and her mommy Amanda. Alivia is a week older than Ruby and this will be the girls' first time meeting, so it should fun.
